Painful experience

i had a terrible experience when i went for my medical check-up yesterday...

The nurse who took my blood didn't use the proper technique, she knew that i'm a nurse too but she was not careful at all, she should know what she can or cannot do! She is not an new staff and she has been taking blood from patients everyday, her blood taking skill should be as good as a phlebotomist but yet she made a stupid mistake!

When she withdraw the needle from the insertion site, the needle was already out from my skin (insertion site) but she inserted the needle again to the same insertion site then i saw a bump over the site immediately, when she saw the bump she quickly removed the needle but the site started to swell and i straightaway felt the terrible pain..The swelling was very bad and it was very very painful! i was very angry and i almost wanted to scold her!

So in the end she has to take blood from my other hand coz the blood was not sufficient for the blood test. Actually i don't mind that she had to poke me two times if the blood she took was not enough. What made me angry was that she is not supposed to insert the needle back to the insertion site when the needle was already out during the blood taking process, those who knows about venepuncture ( blood-taking ) should understand what i mean. It's because of that, that's why there's swelling over the site and i had to suffer the terrible pain. Usually i'm not afraid of going for blood tests, but i guess now i have a phobia already!

Damn it!
