Seoul trip
i was in Seoul with my hubby last month and it was our first time to go to South Korea. To tell the truth, i used to think that i would never want to visit South Korea in my life, lol. It was not that i 'hate' or 'dislike' Korea, but i guess i was more of a 'japanophile', lol. Only recently i started to notice about K-Pop and slowly developed my interest on Korea. Actually i was worried that we chose the wrong place for vacation, after we have booked and confirmed our trip, haha, but luckily our trip turned out great XD
Luckily we didn't 'die' there because we don't know how to speak Korean and it was our first visit. It wasn't that bad afterall because we have prepared all the maps and info that we needed. Not having much problems on shopping too, so far the people we met can speak a little bit of English and even Mandarin. Maybe the more challenging one would be the ordering of food since most of their menus are in Korean only and not many of the menus have pictures of the food -_-''' But if you go to those restaurants which are more for tourists, communication with the staff should not be a problem. The only problem would be eating at those small restaurants where the people there cannot understand English at all, 'unfortunately', usually this kind of restaurant has nicer food!
i heard a lot of people say that the Koreans are rude but i think it is stereotype. Anyone can be rude no matter where you come from. At least we met some helpful Koreans in Seoul on 3 occasions!
We were glad to see many cafes in Seoul coz we love cafes!
And of course, the real Korean food is super nice!
i love their appetizers~!!! The kimchi was really good, i prefer not too spicy/sour kind of kimchi :P
Bulgogi! Seriously, this beef was the best beef that i have ever tasted in my life, lol.
Hello Kitty cafe at Hongdae area.
They don't have a lot of variety but i think basically the food and drink were not bad, and more importantly, they're very cute!
Dongdaemun was a great place for shopping, but i called it the evil place coz i spent too much money there, lol.
See those buildings above? The evil ones XD The must-go places are Maxtyle, Doota, aPM and Migliore. Confirm more evil than Taipei's Wu Fen Pu, hahaha.
These were the stuff i bought from Dongdaemun, and also a pair of shoes and a bag which were not in the photos :P This coat was really good, it really kept me warm. The inner layer of the coat and that beautiful fur on the hood are detachable. i still remember what the salesgirl said to me, she told me that these 2 parts can be removed and i could wear it during spring or when the weather is not too cold, inside my mind i was like "we don't even have spring in our country", lol. The last pic doesn't do any justice on the fur, i think this type of fur is quite different from the ones i have seen so far. When i was in Seoul, i tried to observe what kind of fur on the hood of the coats that Koreans wore and i didn't see anyone wearing the same as mine! ( *proud, lol )
People always say the cosmetic/skin care items in Korea are very cheap but i really had no idea how cheap they are until i saw them with my own eyes. Actually i didn't really plan to buy skin care products or cosmetic items but the salesgirl was too good at promoting the items so i ended up buying those. At first i thought i have wasted money on something that i didn't really need but when i came back to Singapore, i went to the shops and checked out the price and compared, only at that moment i realize that i should have bought more!!! i have never used any products from thefaceshop so i really didn't know about their price, so i was very ignorant, lol. The price differences are very huge! When can i go to Seoul again? Those items are not going to last until my next visit :( i need to buy more, but not in Singapore, lol.
Shall blog again soon...
